KUBRA is in growth mode and currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics Team!


As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be working on designing and maintaining our data Infrastructure and ETL processes under the direction of the Team Lead, or Senior Data Engineer. The best part? You will also get the opportunity to collaborate with an amazing Data Analytics team to provide BI Analysis as a secondary focus!


This is a hybrid role based out of our office in Mississauga.

What you get to do every day

  • Build, monitor, and maintain ETL processes in AWS and Databricks.
  • Develop and optimize scalable, high-performance data architectures (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses) that support complex queries and large datasets.
  • Integrate data from diverse sources (APIs, databases, third-party systems) into unified formats for analysis, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Design and implement dimensional models, including fact and dimension tables, utilizing star and snowflake schemas to optimize data retrieval and reporting in data warehouses.
  • Continuously optimize query performance, storage solutions, and data workflows to minimize latency and improve processing speeds.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for data processes, workflows, and system configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and system maintainability..
  • May travel to visit clients throughout North America to participate in design sessions and deliver technical presentations and training
  • Other duties as assigned.

What skills do you need?

  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Analytics.
  • 5-7 years of cloud experience on any of the major cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Spark, Kafka, or similar tools for managing large datasets and distributed processing (preferably Databricks/Confluent).
  • Good knowledge of AWS stack such as S3, DMS, Glue, Lambda.
  • Experience working with modern data lake formats such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.
  • Strong experience in optimizing Databricks and AWS workflows.
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing query performance, and managing relational databases
  • Preferable to have dbt or Looker skills.
