Vetcove is seeking a highly skilled, proactive Senior Counsel to provide legal guidance across a broad spectrum of corporate, regulatory and commercial matters. This role will partner with cross-functional teams, including leadership, product, compliance, HR, and finance, to navigate complex legal challenges and support our strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in risk management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions, with the ability to advise in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.


What you will do

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, compliance, risk mitigation, and general business operations.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including SaaS agreements, vendor agreements, partnership agreements, DPAs, licensing arrangements, and service agreements.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Advise on data privacy laws, consumer protection regulations, employment laws, and other relevant legal frameworks.

  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and engineering teams to address legal considerations in product development, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

You should have

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic record; active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.

  • Minimum of 8-12 years of legal experience, ideally including both top-tier law firm practice (e.g., an AmLaw 100) and in-house counsel experience in a technology-driven company.

  • Proven experience in tech transactions, commercial contracting, corporate governance, compliance, and privacy.

  • Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives and provide pragmatic, solution oriented advice.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and work collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including excellent negotiation, drafting and analytical skills.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is: $180,000/year - $230,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. For Colorado, the salary range is: $180,000/year - $215,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. This salary range is a good faith estimate of what Vetcove may pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, and experience. The range reflects the base hourly rate or annual compensation (as applicable), and does not include bonus, equity or other incentives.
