 Job Description: 

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, Financial Planning the successful candidate will be a key FP&A member who is responsible for supporting central planning processes to deliver a consistent, reliable, high-quality product.  This role will interact with many different finance, accounting, and business teams within BlackBerry.

 Specific Accountabilities:

  • Support the planning, consolidation and analysis of weekly, quarterly, and annual forecasts
  • Primary point / Admin on Adaptive Insights Planning tool – setting-up key planning processes, hierarchy maintenance, planning rate updates, report building, support other team members and troubleshoot
  • Company-wide Opex Reporting and Analysis (Forecasts, Quarter-End Close, Ad Hoc requests)
  • Lead on Corporate S&B Planning – deriving key planning rates with HR and analysis on variances
  • Validation of month/quarter end Actual results and investigation into any variances
  • Manage the Calendar and Communication for key planning activities
  • Generate presentation material, including standard analytical reporting, for Finance Leadership
  • Drive continuous improvements for accuracy and efficiencies into key planning processes
  • Assist with preparation of annual externally reported surveys (i.e., Gartner, Government)
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting

Qualification Requirements for Successful Candidate:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Accounting
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Strong Finance System skills (NetSuite, Adaptive Insights)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a high focus on quality and detail
  • Accounting designation would be considered an asset
  • Ability to clearly communicate at various levels of the organization
