Job Description

The Senior Copywriter partners with Art Directors, Strategy, Medical, and Client Service teams to develop oncology-focused creative that is strategically grounded and medically accurate. This role leads concept development and copy execution across campaigns while mentoring junior creatives. The Senior Copywriter ensures all work aligns with brand strategy, regulatory standards, and competitive oncology landscapes.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop compelling oncology-focused campaign concepts and long- and short-form copy across digital, print, and integrated channels in collaboration with Art Directors and Strategy partners
  • Present creative concepts and campaign rationale to clients and cross-functional stakeholders, aligning work to brand strategy and competitive oncology positioning
  • Partner with Science & Regulatory teams to ensure claims accuracy, reference validation, and compliance across all deliverables
  • Lead and mentor junior copywriters by reviewing drafts, providing structured feedback, and guiding projects from brief through production
  • Manage multiple oncology projects simultaneously, ensuring deliverables meet timelines, budgets, and production requirements (shoots, CGI, stock, digital assets)

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical or healthcare agency copywriting experience with a portfolio demonstrating oncology campaign work across multiple channels
  • Demonstrated experience writing HCP and/or patient-facing oncology materials with evidence of regulatory review and claim substantiation
  • Experience presenting creative concepts to clients and defending strategic rationale in formal presentations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Medical and Client Services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Writing, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

 

Desired:

  • Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done
  • Experience working on oncology product launches or competitive brand environments
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior creatives with documented project oversight
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical production processes including print, digital, CGI, and photo shoots
  • Experience in additional therapeutic areas such as women’s health

Additional Information

This posting is for a newly created role at Klick.

The base salary range for this position is between CAD $80,000 - $95,000. The final amount offered will be determined based on several factors such as a candidate’s work location, their unique skill set, education, and prior work experience.
