What you'll be doing

As a Senior Consultant specializing in Workday Extend Application Development, you will play a pivotal role in the end-to-end design, development, deployment, and support of Workday Extend applications. You will leverage your expertise in Workday Extend, integration design, and system security to deliver robust solutions that drive business value. You will collaborate across HR, technology, and business teams, as well as with third-party vendors, to deliver innovative Workday applications and integrations.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Workday Extend Application Development: Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Workday Extend applications. Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Orchestration Design: Architect and implement automation using Workday Orchestrations and EIB integrations. Design and manage API requests to extract, transform, and load Workday data.
  • Workday Security: Apply deep knowledge of Workday Security to ensure applications and integrations adhere to best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Full Application Lifecycle: Manage the entire lifecycle of Workday Extend applications—from requirements gathering and solution design to deployment and post-go-live support.
  • Workday Configuration & Modules: Provide subject matter expertise in Workday configuration and core system modules, including business objects and reporting.
  • Consultation & Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external partners. Lead or participate in collaborative projects and initiatives, proactively engaging stakeholders to align on plans and deliverables.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in application development, preferably with a focus on Workday Extend. Proven expertise in scripting, orchestration/flow design, API development (REST and SOAP) and data interchange formats (JSON and XML). Demonstrated experience in deploying cloud applications from start to finish. Strong background in Workday configuration and familiarity with multiple Workday modules, including domain security.
  • Your influence makes an impact. You know that relationships and networks are essential to success. You inspire outcomes by making yourself heard.
  • You understand that success is in the details.  You notice things that others don’t.  Your critical thinking skills help to inform decision making.
  • You are a problem solver. You can demonstrate strong problem solving and decision-making skills: able to analyze situations, develop and implement solutions, often within narrow time frames and often working with a wide variety of others.
  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You’re confident in your ability to communicate detailed information in an impactful way.
  • You embrace and champion change. You'll continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work in order to deliver your best.
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
