What you'll be doing
The Senior Consultant, Insider Risk Intelligence & Insights will report to the Director, Insider Risk Intelligence and Insights, Corporate Security. This role is part of a team that seeks out and analyzes information, identifies threats within CIBC, monitors risk and behavior indicators, and refers files to investigative partners as needed. This role is also responsible for flagging emerging trends, seeking out new ways to detect, deter and investigate insider risk, and support Insider Risk projects. This role will directly contribute to strengthening CIBC’s insider risk framework by providing actionable insights that inform leadership decision-making and enterprise-wide security policies. This role is also responsible for providing intelligence and insights to partners and leadership in a timely manner.

How you'll succeed
- Insider Risk: Work with Insider Risk and Corporate Security leadership to analyze, produce, and deliver insider threat information that directly supports security decisions and build corporate awareness. Execute the day-to-day operations, including monitoring and triaging alerts from various lines of business. Analyze information to identify insider risk activity that informs CIBC investigations. Develop a program of analysis to guide the identification of insider risk activity and inform CIBC investigations. Integrate into other business lines’ ongoing investigations to serve as a subject matter expert on insider risk detection and analysis.
- Relationship Management: Identify and nurture relationships to facilitate collaboration within Corporate Security and other CIBC business units to raise awareness or the risk and keep apprised of emerging issues in the company.
- Research and Analysis: Seek out new sources of intelligence and continuously evaluate existing information streams for use within the insider threat analysis program. Manage repositories of threat information, investigations, and intelligence reports that may impact current and future insider risk events and investigations. Produce high quality assessments for delivery to director and executive level officials through written, graphical, and verbal formats. Ability to learn and develop use cases for inclusion in Corporate Security and Cyber Security monitoring tools.
- Business Advisory and Team Management: Advise and inform complex and rapidly changing intelligence and investigative operations which may require work during evenings and weekends. Support due diligence requests from CIBC business areas, according to defined thresholds. Lead and mentor junior team members in analysis and investigative best practices. Support development and refinement of enterprise-wide insider threat frameworks and playbook.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate 10 years experience in Security, Intelligence, fraud, information security or academic research experience including in a leadership role. You have experience supporting or leading complex investigations, intelligence analysis, collections , or academic research. You have advanced expertise applying structured analytical skills and techniques, are creative, systematic thinker with string analytical skills who can communicate complex insider threat information across business lines. Knowledge of applications such as DTEX, MS Purview or Sentinel would be considered an asset.

Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Technical capability interfacing with databases using analytical software, managing large volumes of data, and extracting relevant findings. You have Internal Fraud or counterintelligence analysis experience.
