What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Cloud Engineering & Transformation team as a Senior Communications Strategist. In this role you’ll be a seasoned expert responsible for the management of internal or external communication plans, supporting the development of the brand to enhance client experience and deepen relationships with target segments. You’ll work with minimal direction using deep knowledge in your field of expertise and establish strong working relationships with internal and external partners to lead the development of effective communication materials and vehicles. The role uses significant latitude in determining objectives, acting as lead subject matter expert in projects related to employee communication. The role exercises considerable judgement for decision making on complex issues that impact projects. The role often operates in ambiguous situations and provides innovative, original ideas, accountable to broadly defined policy objectives. This role is critical to the success of the Cloud@Scale program and the Cloud Engineering & Transformation team’s ability to deliver on its objectives in a high-stakes, dynamic environment.

How you’ll succeed

  • Ensure Consistency and Clarity: Maintain a unified and professional voice across all communications, ensuring messages are clear, consistent, and aligned with CIBC’s brand.
  • Support Executive Engagement: Develop impactful materials that enable executives to effectively communicate program goals, progress, and outcomes to diverse stakeholders.
  • Manage High Volume and Complexity: Efficiently produce, review, and refine a large volume of communication materials under tight timelines and evolving requirements.
  • Enable Stakeholder Alignment: Facilitate understanding and buy-in by translating complex program details into accessible, actionable messages for different audiences.
  • Uphold Program Reputation: Safeguard the Cloud@Scale program’s reputation through strategic, proactive communication that anticipates and addresses stakeholder needs and questions.
  • Drive Innovation in Messaging: Bring fresh, original ideas to communication approaches, ensuring the program stands out and resonates with its target segments.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience in. developing Senior Executive and Board-level communication plans, narratives, and content for large-scale technology or transformation programs, ideally within cloud, engineering, or enterprise-scale technical environments. You can take complex cloud or technical concepts and translate them into clear, compelling, and accessible communication tailored to a wide range of audiences. You exercise strong judgment, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and are comfortable leading communication initiatives in high-pressure, ambiguous environments.
