General Summary:
The Senior Clinic Account Manager will be responsible for ensuring that stakeholders have the information needed on CFTR Modulators to make informed decisions related to treatment. This role will have a good understanding of topics pertaining to product education, reimbursement, and the patient assistance program. This role must be able to understand and communicate highly scientific information to key stakeholders and have the ability to see the world through the eyes of customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as a critical role in establishing Vertex as a leader in the CF field and our commitment to supporting the CF community.
- Interacts with key stakeholders (Healthcare Providers) in assigned geography; Promotes on safe and effective use of our drug(s), in accordance with the product label(s) within company training and policies, and using approved resources
- Supports Healthcare Provider Learning needs
- Provides key stakeholders relevant disease state education, within company training and policies and utilizing approved materials; Supports other non-promotional learning activities within territory, as appropriate; Educates stakeholders on private and public reimbursement process and criteria for approved drugs (not specific to individual patients).
- Disseminates and communicates general information about the Vertex patient support programs; Helps to coordinate the connection between individual CF Clinics and the third-party vendor responsible for the patient support programs.
- Understands account and regional dynamic (qualitative and quantitative);
- Identifies key opportunities by account; Builds territory plans and track performance.
- Uses account management approach that is all inclusive of entire clinic teams
- Entrepreneurial approach to account management
- Cross functional collaboration with market access team, public affairs team, marketing, patient services
- Excellent presentation skills through various channels including zoom
- Effectively organizes and executes other learning activities for HCPs
- Develops strong relationships with other CAMs and internal Service departments to ensure synergies and execute best practices for our customers’ and patients benefits
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven ability to understand and effectively communicate complex scientific information;
- Proven ability to develop, educate, and manage external alliances and external scientific collaborations;
- Proven experience with patient support programs;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and be credible with health care providers;
- Strong problem solver, highly motivated and organized with excellent account management skills;
- Ability to thrive and lead in an environment with rapidly changing business priorities;
- A compelling and dynamic leader with strong communication skills, in written and verbal formats;
- Detailed and results oriented with excellent analytic skills; using internal/external data available through computer applications and software
- Willing to travel on-territory up to 40% of time including air travel, plus internal/external meetings.
- Mastery of the disease state and all clinical data
- Mastery of all core sales competencies
- Mastery with knowledge of CF Center business and Payer landscape
- Mastery of customer relationships and consistently viewed as a trusted partner with HCP’s

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required;
- Typically requires 5 years of field experience in biotech/specialty pharmaceuticals industry/ rare disease experience and proven experience developing and enriching relationships within the territory, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
