We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in the Workers’ Compensation insurance domain to bridge the gap between business operations and IT. This role focuses on analyzing, designing, and implementing technical solutions across policy, claims, and underwriting systems.

The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of U.S. Workers’ Compensation regulations, extensive insurance experience, and the ability to lead complex initiatives while driving data-informed decisions and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Analysis: Evaluate business needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions, including design, testing, and implementation.
  • Requirements & Documentation: Lead requirements gathering and develop detailed business requirements, functional specifications, and data flow diagrams.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business users, customers, and cross-functional IT teams to align solutions with organizational goals.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and support end-to-end project delivery, including scope definition, prioritization, and execution of high-complexity initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze current processes, identify gaps, and recommend strategic improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Testing & Validation: Define test strategies, test cases, and test matrices; support system testing and validation to ensure quality delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure systems and processes remain compliant with U.S. Workers’ Compensation regulations.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data analysis to support business insights and strategic decisions.
  • Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and team members.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote best practices, innovation, and a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Tools & Reporting: Utilize MS Office (Word, Excel), SQL, and data visualization tools to analyze, report, and present findings.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Technology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience in the insurance industry
    • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
    • Strong expertise in Workers’ Compensation (U.S. regulations required)
    • Experience working with policy, claims, and underwriting systems.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong experience in requirements gathering and documentation
    • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis
    • Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
    • Familiarity with testing methodologies and QA processes
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Proven ability to lead projects and manage priorities
    • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Core Competencies:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile certifications)
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
