Own and architect high-throughput backend services for a logistics scheduling platform using Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis. Design REST and GraphQL APIs, implement multi-tenant authentication and authorization, lead technical design reviews, mentor engineers, manage on-call incident response, and collaborate directly with client stakeholders during technical discovery.
Job Description
Swift Tech Co. builds custom software and platform infrastructure across FinTech, logistics, and SaaS engagements, production systems handling real money and real operations, not prototypes. We're looking for a senior backend engineer to own core services for a logistics client's scheduling platform, one of several concurrent systems on your plate, with real architectural authority from day one.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain high-throughput services in Node.js (Express/Fastify) with PostgreSQL and Redis, serving live client traffic
- Design and evolve REST and GraphQL APIs consumed by our own frontend team and by client-side integrators directly
- Lead technical design reviews for client scheduling and routing systems, including tradeoff docs the client's own engineers can read
- Implement authentication and authorization (JWT/OAuth 2.0, role-based access) for multi-tenant client systems
- Mentor two mid-level engineers through code review, pairing, and structured 1:1s
- Own on-call rotation and incident response for services you ship, from paging to postmortem
- Partner directly with client stakeholders during discovery to scope technically sound solutions before implementation starts
