We are seeking an experienced Senior API Developer (AI & Agentic Systems) to join our growing API team. In this role, you will be part of our API Incubation team responsible for prototyping and delivering production-grade API solutions—from design through deployment and operational support. These APIs will interface with new and/or existing infrastructure and services, including APIs that expose AI/LLM capabilities (RAG, agents, and model orchestration) and data-focused applications.

Location: CANADA

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Strong experience with API platforms, REST APIs, SDKs, HTTP, OAuth2/OIDC, and OpenAPI 3.0.
  • Experience with microservices, PaaS, high availability cloud environments (Azure and/or GCP), and Rancher/Kubernetes.
  • Experience with data platforms/warehouses (e.g., Databricks).
  • Familiarity with agentic and AI-enabled API patterns, including RAG, agents, and model orchestration.
  • Experience with one or more of: Java, .NET, Python, Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Exposure to Model Context Protocol (MCP), Agent2Agent (A2A), and Agent2Payments (A2P) is a plus.
  • Strong engineering practices: agile methodologies, DevOps best practices, test-driven development, CI/CD build & deploy systems, and modern code repositories.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate proactively across infrastructure and engineering teams.

Job duties:

  • Design, build, integrate, test, deploy, and support scalable APIs using our API Platform, API Style Guide, and underlying infrastructure.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and clients to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and high-quality API solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and security to evaluate requirements, conduct feasibility assessments, analyze existing components, and develop integration plans.
  • Employ an iterative approach to capability development that incorporates requirements refinement, user feedback, lessons learned, and other inputs.
  • Create level-of-effort estimates, define task breakdowns, and drive delivery across milestones.
  • Build strong partnerships across application, business, and infrastructure teams to ensure solutions are scalable and operationally sound.
  • Create and maintain partner enablement assets, such as API guides and packages (e.g., Postman collections) for new feature launches.
  • Create, update, and maintain external API documentation on our developer site.
  • Apply an operational mindset, including SLOs, incident response readiness, cost/performance optimization, and security-by-design
