Reporting to the Senior Director & Head of Infrastructure Investments, the Senior Associate, Infrastructure Investments will play a key role in sourcing new infrastructure opportunities and growing our market presence as a leading infrastructure investor. In addition, the Senior Associate, Infrastructure Investments will assist in underwriting new investment opportunities (direct, co-invest and funds), mentoring junior team members, monitoring the portfolio and maintaining strong relationships with key partners.
Core Responsibilities:- Assist in the sourcing, screening and analysis of new investment opportunities with a focus on co-investment opportunities as well as primary and secondary fund investments.
- Completion of due diligence on new investments, including:
- Industry research, counterparty, structure, and portfolio risk analysis
- Detailed financial model review and analysis
- Detailed documentation review, including legal documentation, key contracts, and third party due diligence reports
- Working with key advisors (legal, tax etc.)
- Preparation and presentation of investment recommendations to the Investment Committee
- Ongoing monitoring of existing investments, including ESG considerations, and preparation of regular reporting documents.
- Assist in portfolio management functions including fund reporting, fund-level cashflow projections, risk-exposure analysis, and marketing material.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key market participants and other infrastructure investors, existing GP partners, and potential GP partners
- Contribute to our market presence as a leading infrastructure investor by supporting development of thought leadership, conference attendance and effective partner relationships
- Idea generation to advance the objectives of the Fund
- Undertake project work and other duties as required.
- Actively engaging in ongoing learning and development to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Other relevant and related responsibilities, as assigned and as the needs of the organization change.
- A minimum of 6 years of overall relevant experience with at least four years’ experience in funds, co-investment, or direct investments in private markets, preferably infrastructure, at a financial institution, private equity fund or pension fund.
- Undergraduate or Graduate degree in business/accounting/finance.
- You are able and willing to travel internationally.
- Experience managing junior team members is considered an asset.
- CFA, CA, CPA, MBA, or CBV considered an asset.
This position comes with a competitive total compensation package including a base salary in the range of $150,000 - $180,000.
Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in our performance-based ShortTerm Incentive (STI) and LongTerm Incentive (LTI) programs. LTI is awarded in the form of equity, providing a direct ownership opportunity in the firm. This total compensation program aligns pay with performance through competitive incentives with meaningful long-term value creation.
