As the first Analytics Engineer, you will build the analytics infrastructure for the GTM function, design data models, create dashboards, and partner with stakeholders for insights.
It’s rare that a new asset class is born. Nevertheless, we’re witnessing exactly that with the rise of crypto. Over just the last few years, since Bitwise was founded, crypto has evolved from an embryonic $50B market to a growing $3T+ juggernaut. At Bitwise, we believe that crypto has reached a turning point, and is headed north of $10T over the next few years.
This is an exciting moment for Bitwise as a firm. For eight years, we have established a track record of excellence managing a broad suite of index and active solutions across ETFs, separately managed accounts, private funds, institutional staking, and hedge fund strategies. This year, we crossed $15B in client assets and are growing quickly. Thousands of financial advisors, family offices, and institutional investors partner with Bitwise to understand and access the opportunities in crypto. We are known for providing unparalleled client support through expert research and commentary, a nationwide client team of crypto specialists, and deep access to the crypto ecosystem.
Currently, Bitwise is a close-knit team of 100+ global professionals. Think of us as a mix of an asset manager and a tech start-up. We’re backed by some of the most accomplished investors in venture capital and veterans of the financial services world. We love working together, we love what we do, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.
As our first Analytics Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in defining and building our analytics infrastructure for our Go-To-Market (GTM) function. You will own the GTM data ecosystem, ensuring data is reliable, accessible, and scalable.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a high-complexity environment — someone excited to bring clarity to chaos, untangle complex data models, and create the foundation for a scalable and flexible data future.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and build core data models to improve analysis efficiency, enabling rapid, reliable insights for teams.
- Create highly intuitive, visual dashboards with a focus on high business impact and self-serve solutions.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions attuned to their current needs while ensuring scalability.
- Bring vision to a developing space, identifying the root question(s) to solve for, and how to unearth insights that will inform key business decisions.
Role Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an analytics engineer, data engineer, data scientist, or similar role.
- GTM domain expertise.
- Expert SQL skills.
- Deep experience with marketing and sales data structures and platforms like Salesforce, Google Ads, Reddit, Facebook, etc
- Familiarity with data warehouse platforms like Snowflake, data transformation tools like DBT, and customer data platforms like Segment.
- Experience in data modeling, including dimensional modeling and analytics engineering best practices.
- Experience creating high-impact dashboards and visualizations using BI tools.
- You move fast - with a bias for impact - and don’t shy away from advocating for your work.
- You have a strong sense of ownership. You’re excited to lead projects, aligning stake-holders to a common goal, and driving to a finished output.
- The idea of being early on a small team where things change rapidly and everyone pitches in excites you.
- Though not needing to be an expert, you’re interested in learning about crypto and investments and enthusiastic about making it part of your career.
What We Offer:
- Compensation: $170,000-$190,000 salary
- Equity compensation as a component of all offers
- Health insurance, including dental and vision plans
