POSITION TITLE:        Senior Analyst, Compliance Operations  

DIVISION:                    Compliance & Ethics

REPORTS TO:              Compliance Manager, Compliance Operations

1.   SCOPE OF POSITION 

The Senior Analyst, Compliance Operations position reports to the Compliance Manager, Compliance Operations. The primary focus of the role is policy management and related activities that enable compliance and understanding of key organizational objectives as well as applicable regulatory requirements.

2.   PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the management of the existing policy program; prompt timely reviews and engagement of relevant stakeholders with the objective of delivering policy documents that are fit for purpose.

  • Convey subject matter expertise and promote best practices to achieve consistency with OMERS policy framework.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from across the organization to reach strategic objectives.

  • Review emerging industry/regulatory trends, conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to support policy and process recommendations based on OMERS strategy and stakeholder needs.

  • Serve as a liaison for internal stakeholders to receive feedback and support issue resolution.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of organizational processes, as well as relevant regulatory and technology requirements.

  • Participate in monitoring and testing of various compliance activities to establish insights and meaningful policy guidance.

  • Create and/or enhance compliance management process documentation (e.g., compliance procedures, compliance projects management, etc.).

  • Proactively review current practices, analyze and identify potential design and process improvements for the implementation of new compliance projects and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • University degree or college program graduate.

  • Related work experience in compliance or a similar role.

  • At least 3-4 years of relevant management experience including regulatory compliance and policy program management.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan logically, organize strategically and monitor progress using effective controls and success criteria.

  • Must be highly organized with the ability to create and execute processes relevant to the role.

  • Initiative-taker and comfortable working both collaboratively as well as independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, set priorities and identify any areas that require further research.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work across multiple levels within the organization.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex requirements to a range of audiences through a variety of channels.

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and intermediate user of Excel and SharePoint. 

  • Project management experience with Asana is an asset.
