About the Role
Morningstar Indexes team leverages its expertise in equity research, manager research, asset allocation, and portfolio construction to create innovative investment solutions. It uses Morningstar`s intellectual property to create indexes that empower investors' success at every stage of the investment process - market monitoring, benchmarking, and asset allocation. The unit offers a broad suite of global equity, bond, commodity and asset allocation indexes.
Morningstar Indexes seeks intelligent and creative professionals for its Index Operations team. The primary function of the team of the team is to leverage inhouse engine to design, deliver, and maintain our indexes. The team operates on a 24 hours / 6 days basis with members in APAC, EMEA, North America to support the global index business.
Daily Operations team is responsible to daily maintenance of the indexes, including validation of all data inputs and outputs such as daily price, exchange rates, and corporate action research, and client deliverables support.
Candidate must have experience in handling detail-critical tasks, managing communication (written, non-written, remote), and global team working environment. Successful candidates may at time work independently outside of their regional hours to engage and support teams across the globe.
Job Responsibilities

  • Research and develop expertise in corporate action processing and index calculation process.
  • Clear daily exceptions assignment and research leveraging inhouse index engine.
  • Oversee daily calculation and publication of daily deliverables to internal and external clients in a timely manner.
  • Escalation of internal/external issues using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Asana, and JIRA.
  • Challenge data vendors where inconsistencies arise to ensure high level of straight through processing.
  • Work with Client Service teams to review external client feedback for prompt response and resolution through development channels.
  • Support other index operations process such as index rebalance, launch support, and quality control enhancements.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Management, Economics, etc. and/or a strong interest in Finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years in index Industry, fund management or financial research.
  • Experienced with basics of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.).
  • Experienced in working under tight deadlines, with high quality outcomes.
  • Background in Corporate Actions or stock analysis with company financial reports is preferable.
  • Experience with Database knowledge (SQL and Python) is beneficial to the role.
  • Background in variety of asset classes (Equity, Fixed Income, Private Equity) is beneficial to the role.

Base Salary Compensation Range
$65,591.00 - $111,500.00
Total Cash Compensation Range
$72,150.00 - 122,650.00 USD Annual
