Role Summary

As a Senior Analyst, you will contribute to the development and execution of credit risk strategies through comprehensive data analysis, modeling, and reporting. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that enhance portfolio performance, optimize risk, and support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage credit decisioning for cross-sell credit card strategies linked to mortgage acquisitions; ensure timely delivery.

  • Assist in designing and refining risk decision strategies using advanced analytics and business rules.

  • Conduct portfolio analysis to identify trends, assess risk, and support strategic initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor strategy performance and outcomes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., systems, finance, product) to support business initiatives and regulatory requirements.

  • Respond to business ad hoc requests with timely and accurate analysis.

  • Participate in validation testing and change management activities for new or modified strategies.

  • Support governance processes and prepare documentation for audits and reviews.

  • Act as a second-line function by providing independent analysis and effective challenge to business-led strategies and decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 3–5 years of experience in credit risk, analytics, or a related discipline.

  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience using data tools and coding languages such as SAS, SQL, Python, or R.

  • Solid understanding of credit products and risk management principles.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Salary:

$56,000.00 - $103,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
