What you’ll be doing

The Enhanced Screening Sr. Analyst conducts screening for current employees in high risk roles and teams. Specifically, they investigate, research, analyze, and document the results to various lines of business through recommendations and reports.  They play a critical role in protecting CIBC, its assets and its employees. The Insider team seeks to deter, detect, and respond to internal threats by raising awareness and communicating both internally and externally in a timely matter at the onset of potential anomalous activities. 

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Due to the nature of your role, you will be subject to an enhanced screening process.  This process is performed on an annual basis thereafter, in accordance to your initial CIBC hired date. 

How you’ll succeed

  • Cross-Functional Relationships- Regular contact with existing employees, Insider Risk peers, reporting managers, and external suppliers to obtain/ provide/verify detailed and factual information.

  • Research & Analyze - compile and conduct detailed analysis of fairly complex information. Compile, validate, and document business requirements for assignments, ensuring data integrity, maximum operational efficiency, and consistency. Develop detailed analysis that synthesizes key analytical insights and conclusions for use to resolve complex assignments. Assess the quality, relevance and validity of information gathered to formulate conclusions, responses and recommendations.

  • Strong Communication Skills - Communicate with various departments and external organizations to obtain/provide information for analysis purposes.

  • Compliance Requirements/Responsibilities- As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls. Assessing importance and sensitivity of issues arising and exercising judgment in determining an appropriate course of action.

  • Authorities/Decision Rights- As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to suggest changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Job Dimensions- National Scope, supporting all lines of business. Prioritizing and organizing - workload to ensure items that are critical to the business are addressed.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience with a minimum of 5 years of CIBC experience. Understand CIBC mainframe applications and systems such as COINS, CLASS, ECIF, WMOL, ECRM, Postedge, CRIA, CARM, PRM, ICBS, Verint, Compass, Broadridge etc. You have a background in Private Wealth, Wood Gundy and/or retail banking experience

  • You have some technical knowledge. You have some technical capability interfacing with databases using analytical software (including Excel and Tableau) managing large volumes of data, and extracting relevant findings.
