We’re looking for a Senior Accounts Receivables Specialist to join our growing company and play a key role in our customer experience by ensuring each purchase ends in a smile!

Job Description

The Senior Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is a critical position to the Accounting Department and Company as a whole. As a member of the AR team, the successful candidate will support the business unit through a combination of your strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities as well as a high degree of accuracy and timeliness. They will be charged with monitoring the Accounts Receivable function ensuring continuity of processes while raising risks, roadblocks and proposed remediation and improvements to management on a timely basis. The position also requires excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, stakeholder management, attention to detail and ability to quickly learn various tasks.
Responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead daily accounts receivable activities including intercompany invoicing, statements and account reconciliation processes.
  • Follow up with internal departments to resolve outstanding balances.
  • Support, review, and resolve 1st level escalations.
  • Prepare daily refund reports, overseeing and tracking team actions on daily outstanding refunds.
  • Lead and support daily gift card processing and reconcile activities addressing issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare dashboard and KPI reports while providing analysis and commentary on results.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and address items in a timely manner.
  • Review existing reporting and provide recommendations to manager in order to streamline reporting.
  • Proactively provide feedback to Manager on recurring issues and recommend and execute process improvements
  • Support AR team deliverables and month end close process.
  • Support cross functional responsibilities in Accounting Shared Services.
  • Coach team members on new tasks or process changes.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives and participate in operational assignments, projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

The Qualifications and Experience we like to see:

  • College Diploma/University Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in accounting or related field
  • Strong conceptual and problem solving, time management and prioritization skills
  • Proficient skills in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups), Word, Outlook
  • Experience with Oracle and cash matching tools (T-recs, Cadency) would be an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable training the Finance/Accounting team with new processes
  • Ability to foster collaborative, cross department relationships to meet common objectives that move the organization forward.
