About xScale
During 2019, Equinix took a significant step in its plan to support the rapid growth of hyperscale customers with the establishment of a joint venture to own, run, and develop xScale data centers in Europe. This milestone set the foundation for funding and expanding xScale globally. In 2024, we expanded into the USA, marking the 6th and one of the largest xScale joint ventures to date.
Today, xScale represents one of the fastest-growing and most strategically important areas of Equinix. This role is part of our global xScale Controllership team, supporting the largest and most complex U.S. joint venture. You will join a high-energy, collaborative environment where learning, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional partnership happen every day.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager, xScale AMER, this role will work directly on our largest and most high‑profile U.S. joint venture, providing significant visibility across the global xScale organization. As a Senior Accountant, you will own end‑to‑end accounting activities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, including supporting M&A activities such as refinancings. This position offers high visibility, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to one of Equinix’s most strategically important growth areas.
Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant AMER will be responsibility for a number of wide range GL activities including cash management, accruals, reconciliations, opex and BS analysis and accounting for M&A activities.
Responsibilities
Work with upstream data owners and cross-functional teams to support accounting activities
Partner with the business and stakeholders to ensure transactions are recorded timely and accurately
Prepare and manage related‑party transactions
Prepare and reconcile loan amortization schedules
Prepare journals and month‑end reconciliations for specific GL accounts
Manage timely processing of bank transactions, accruals, intercompany transactions, and accounting entries
Flux analysis and some investor reporting
Perform monthly balance sheet and P&L flux analysis
Serve as primary point of contact during statutory audits and prepare audit files
Collaborate closely with Tax, Legal, and Treasury teams
Drive process improvements and efficiencies
Foster an entrepreneurial team spirit
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA or equivalent is a distinct advantage
5+ years’ experience in Accounting/Financial Control
Experience with IFRS and US GAAP preferred
Strong communication skills and Team Player
Self-starter who works on their own initiative
Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, and strong Excel skills preferred
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 80,000 - 120,000 USD / Annual
Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 73,000 - 109,000 CAD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
