Lightspeed is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller in NoAm (North America), the ideal person to join us is a fast learner, self-motivated, possesses strong organizational skills, and is extremely attentive to detail. The working environment is dynamic, and daily tasks include a variety of accounting duties. If you’re interested in the opportunity to expand your skills by working with the Accounting team of a growing technology company, this is the position for you!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for the month-end close procedures for Lightspeeds largest subsidiary
  • Assist and perform a wide variety of accounting tasks, from the Balance Sheet to the PnL. Full review of all areas and ensuring accurate books at all times
  • Perform the payroll-related accounting entries and variance analysis for over 1,000 employees
  • Responsible for SOX controls related tasks such as Interest, Bank Reconciliations and Cash Flow Hedging
  • Working very closely with FP&A team to align budget and actuals along with supporting their needs around understanding the business unit/verticals impacts that are key drivers
  • Have the initiative to partake in the improvement of internal processes and being an active participant in automation projects
  • Participate in the internal monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process, external quarterly reviews, and annual financials statement audit

What you need to bring:

We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:

  • CPA or in process of obtaining a CPA designation
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position or audit
  • Strong financial reporting knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills are very important. You will need to be in constant communication with all stakeholders to have visibility of the business needs and risks
  • Sense of collaboration and teamwork      
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
  • Adept at handling sensitive documents
  • Fluency in English

Even better if you have, but not necessary

  • Experience with NetSuite & Salesforce
  • CPA completed
  • Experience reporting under SOX
  • Experience with publicly traded companies
  • Knowledge of payroll accounting in NoAm
