Senior Account Executive – Public Sector

Do you have a track record of winning complex software deals in the public sector? Do you understand how government and mission-driven organizations buy technology and how to build consensus across executive leaders, department heads, procurement/IT teams, and other stakeholders?

Envisio is looking for a Senior Account Executive with strong public-sector sales experience, particularly within state and local government, to drive new customer acquisition and expand our footprint across the public sector.

Envisio is one of Western Canada’s fastest-growing software companies and was recently named one of 2026’s Top 100 GovTech companies. Our software helps public-sector and mission-driven organizations turn strategic priorities into measurable results through better planning, performance management, reporting, transparency, and accountability.

Our customers include cities, counties, state agencies, special districts, water and utility districts, K–12 school districts, higher education institutions, healthcare and nonprofit organizations, and other public-sector and mission-driven organizations.

The Role

As a Senior Account Executive, you will own the full sales cycle and be responsible for developing and closing new business across the public sector, with a strong focus on state and local government. The pay range for this role is approximately $200,000 to $230,000 OTE (CAD).

You will:

  • Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through negotiation and close
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across the public sector, with a primary focus on state and local government
  • Pursue opportunities across municipalities, counties, state agencies, special districts, water and utility districts, K–12, nonprofits, and adjacent public-sector markets
  • Develop trusted, consultative relationships with senior and executive leaders within public-sector and mission-driven organizations
  • Leverage your knowledge of and ideally your existing network within the government and public-sector market to identify and develop new opportunities
  • Understand the priorities, challenges, and operating environments of public-sector organizations and connect those needs to Envisio’s value proposition
  • Position Envisio as a strategic solution for strategy execution, organizational alignment, performance management, transparency, accountability, and public reporting
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes involving executive leadership, department leaders, IT, procurement, finance, and other stakeholders
  • Effectively navigate government procurement processes, including RFPs/RFQs, purchasing requirements, budget cycles, and contracting
  • Partner with Solutions Consultants / Sales Engineers to deliver tailored, value-oriented demonstrations to senior leadership and executive teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and other teams to develop and win strategic opportunities
  • Develop compelling business cases, proposals, and presentations that demonstrate measurable value for prospective customers
  • Negotiate and close new contracts while maintaining disciplined pipeline management and accurate revenue forecasts
  • Represent Envisio at relevant conferences, industry events, and client-facing meetings as needed
  • Travel occasionally to support market presence such as industry events, roadshows, and client-facing meetings

This is an opportunity to play a key role in expanding Envisio’s presence across the public sector while helping organizations improve how they plan, measure performance, communicate results, and deliver on the priorities that matter most to their communities.

Experience & Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • 7+ years of B2B/B2G sales experience, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Direct experience selling software or technology solutions into the public sector, ideally state and/or local government
  • Strong understanding of the state and local government market, including municipalities, counties, state agencies, special districts, water districts, utility districts, or similar public agencies
  • Experience navigating government procurement, RFP/RFQ processes, budget cycles, contracting requirements, and complex approval processes
  • Experience selling enterprise or SaaS solutions with multiple stakeholders and longer, consultative sales cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with senior leaders and executive decision-makers
  • Experience developing new business and building pipeline, not solely managing inbound opportunities or existing accounts
  • Strong discovery, value-selling, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Experience managing a pipeline and accurately forecasting revenue
  • Working knowledge of structured sales methodologies such as MEDDIC/MEDDPICC, GAP Selling, Sandler, SPIN, or similar
  • Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM and modern prospecting and sales intelligence tools
  • Ability to stay focused, resourceful, and adaptable in a fast-growing environment
Nice to Have
  • An established network within state and local government or the broader public sector
  • Experience selling into adjacent public-sector and mission-driven markets such as K–12 education, nonprofits, utilities, or special districts
  • Experience selling GovTech, enterprise SaaS, performance management, strategic planning, budgeting, ERP, civic engagement, or other solutions used across government organizations
  • Experience working with special districts, including water, utility, transit, parks and recreation, or other independent public agencies
  • Familiarity with cooperative purchasing vehicles, government contracts, and other public-sector procurement channels
  • Experience with tools such as Outreach, GovSpend, and AI-enabled sales tools
What Will Make You Successful

You are:

  • Consultative: You seek to understand how an organization operates, what it is trying to accomplish, and where its challenges lie before recommending a solution
  • Public-sector savvy: You understand that selling to government and other public-sector organizations is different from traditional commercial sales and know how to navigate multiple stakeholders, procurement requirements, budget cycles, and longer decision-making processes
  • Results-driven: You take ownership of your territory, pipeline, and outcomes and know how to maintain momentum through long and complex sales cycles
  • Relationship Builder: You establish credibility with executives and develop trusted relationships across multiple levels of an organization
  • Curious: You ask thoughtful questions and genuinely want to understand the strategic and operational challenges facing public-sector leaders
  • Strategic: You can identify the path to a deal, build consensus among stakeholders, and develop a compelling business case for change
  • Accountable: You operate with integrity, maintain accurate forecasts, and follow through on commitments
  • Adaptable: You are comfortable operating in a fast-growing company where priorities evolve and everyone contributes to the team’s success
  • Collaborative Team Player: You believe the best outcomes come from working together. You actively collaborate with Solutions Consultants and other teammates throughout the sales process, sharing insights, supporting others, and contributing to a strong team-selling culture.
