The ideal candidate will thrive on client contact and building client relationships. They can operate effectively on larger client files as well as smaller remits and ad hoc needs. They must understand and be able to execute online marketing/social media campaigns. They will have solid experience with many of the following: community management, digital content planning, social networks, digital/content/channel strategies and website builds. They will also have excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients and operate as day-to-day support on local market and national accounts

  • Play a major role in the execution of digital marketing and social media programs for clients including: oversight/execution of digital strategies, content and channel strategy, community engagement and building, and website development – with accountability for quality, performance and deadlines

  • Exhibit effective project management working closely with account teams – prepare and/or review activity reports and status reports for clients; keep the account team abreast of timelines and deadlines; ensure high-quality delivery against deadlines

  • Proactively stay on top of the latest trends in digital, including social media platform evolutions and emerging technologies to engage communities. Engage clients to share how those trends can be applied to existing work and future opportunities

  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency in digital and social strategy, including creating and driving integrated execution plans

  • Contribute to the development of agency digital products for the Digital Corporate and Brand practice.

  • Possess knowledge of agency services and ability to talk intelligently about agency at internal and external meetings and industry functions

  • Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content

  • Viewed as strong "team player" and serve as role model to others

  • Recognize impact of self on others; maintain strong internal/external relationships; support fellow team members

  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals

  • Live the Edelman values: the relentless pursuit of excellence, freedom to be constantly curious and courage to do the right thing

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of related experience in digital marketing and/or digital communications; ideally with experience from a digital, marketing or advertising agency

  • A bachelor’s degree in Media, Marketing, Communications or related discipline from an accredited college or university

  • Previous experience in the energy and/or agriculture sector is considered an asset

  • Experience in client service and day-to-day client contact. A demonstrated ability to address client concerns thoughtfully and effectively

  • A forward thinker in the digital space that knows how to demonstrate the value of digital to our clients as well as internal stakeholders

  • Demonstrated track record of executing successful digital programs for clients

  • A relentless passion and understanding of the role of digital communications for corporate storytelling, brand building, community engagement, issues management, etc

  • Have awareness of legal or reputational issues with client platforms

  • Great references from past and current clients, business partners and employers

  • Creative and innovative approach to problem solving

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, tact, and diplomacy
