Edelman has an amazing opportunity for someone looking to propel their career in strategic communications and join us in Toronto as a Senior Account Director. In this role you'll work on two of our largest global tech clients.

  

Our global team is comprised of 300+ dedicated communications professionals and integrated solutions experts with backgrounds in journalism, digital media, creative strategy, management consulting, and integrated communications marketing. We help our clients build their brands and achieve their business goals while navigating the always-evolving media and industry environments. 

We are looking for someone who thrives on building relationships, navigating complex issues that impact society, and has a deep understanding of the intersection of politics and business. The candidate should have significant experience with communications programs, inclusive of strategy and planning, creative, earned media and influencer marketing.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Build strong relationships with clients and operate as day-to-day client contact.  

  • Lead planning for key clients, with accountability for quality, performance, deadline and budget management.    

  • Collaborate with integrated teams (strategy, creative, digital, analytics) on concept and campaign development and execution.   

  • Contribute to business growth through introducing clients to new capabilities, building network of industry contacts and participating in relevant professional organizations.  

  • Develop a solid understanding of clients’ business to provide sound strategic counsel.    

  • Ensure seamless integration between all campaign activities and program elements.   

  • Demonstrate creativity and conceptual thinking on client programs and projects  

  • Pursue opportunities for learning new expertise & share appropriately.  

 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in corporate/b2b communications, ideally with a focus on corporate or technology clients

  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, with 3 days a week in the office or on-site with clients.

  • Strong experience in client service including with an ability to understand and assess a client’s business and communication needs.  

  • Demonstrated track record of developing and executing engaging and successful communications programs for clients.   

  • Experience managing a team that has best-in-class execution engrained in their DNA.    

  • Proven ability to manage large projects (including budgets) and small teams simultaneously, Function as a daily client contact, as well as develop and execute plans to meet client goals.  

  • Organized and routinely adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines.    

  • A relentless passion and understanding of the role of communications for product marketing, brand building, community engagement, etc.  

  • Amazing writing and presentation skills.  

  • Tact and diplomacy.
