The role
You will be a SDET II working as an integral part of the UI Platform team, assisting Engineers in the development of our products. You will be a crucial influencer in increasing testing and automation for multiple aspects of the business. You will:
- Engage in backlog grooming, planning, design reviews, and code reviews
- Troubleshoot the most complex problems and may also provide a suggestion for how to fix them
- Extend the functionality of test frameworks to create new patterns of testing within an existing framework.
- Engage with the team through collaboration, listening, problem solving, support, sharing, and helping make other team members better
- Continually improve team efficiency, personal skills, and team skills
- Apply technology trends and industry innovations to our products
- Take initiatives and be resourceful
- Take ownerships and create accountability within the team
- Freely debate ideas and rally behind decisions.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be required to develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using current and new frameworks. Additionally, you will implement other test tools your expertise dictates. Moreover, you will liaise with Developers, Architects, develop and maintain test sets, and create additional tools that simplify tasks. You will:
- 4+ years previous experience as a SDET working across the full tech stack
- Experience with popular UI Test frameworks and methodologies
- Experience with public-facing and internal APIs using REST and software developed within a Micro-Service architecture
- Experience using TypeScript and/or JavaScript
- Experience in Java and Junit 4-5 or related languages
- Proficient with Cypress or knowledge of Protractor/Selenium
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
- Experience using and setting up CI/CD pipelines
- Have experience building and maintaining test frameworks
- Experience working in an Agile development, test and deploy environment.
- Experience in deep diving into logs, code and other elements to understand and solve problems
- Have excitement about new technologies and provide mentorship and share knowledge with other engineers
