Overview:
Guidepoint Engineering seeks an experienced Scrum Master as an integral member of the Toronto-based Technology Hub. The Toronto Hub will serve as the base of our new Data/AI team, dedicated to building a modern data infrastructure for advanced analytics and the development of responsible AI. This strategic investment is integral to Guidepoint’s vision for the future, aiming to develop cutting-edge Generative AI and analytical capabilities that will underpin Guidepoint’s Next-Gen research enablement platform and data products.
This is a hybrid role based in our Toronto office.
What You'll Do:
- Facilitate all ceremonies and planning events for multiple teams including the daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review and sprint retrospective, release planning.
- Guide the teams to help understand how to estimate features and capabilities, supporting realistic commitments.
- Collaborate with external teams to address any blocking issues, helping Scrum teams to remain focused on their goals. Represent Scrum teams at appropriate ceremonies, including Scrum of Scrums.
- Work with Product Owners to set OKRs linked to epics in JIRA and ensure a healthy backlog.
- Establish standard set of agile metrics across multiple teams to improve performance in quality, predictability, flow, and velocity, while supporting team focus on daily, sprint and release goals.
- Mentor, motivate and drive process improvements with team members
- Facilitate retrospectives to help identify areas of opportunity for improvement and take responsibility for identified actions.
What You Have:
- 5+ years’ experience in a Scrum Master role with strong knowledge in Agile principles and practices. Scrum master certification is a plus.
- Experience being scrum master for multiple globally distributed teams.
- Expert knowledgeable of Jira and Confluence, required.
- Working knowledge of OKRs and its implementation in Jira.
- Capable of motivating teams to take ownership of their processes.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to interact at all levels within a global and diverse organization.
- Comfortable and composed working in a high-pressure environment to meet deadlines.
- Strong drive for results, resourceful with ability to prioritize and work independently or in groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Consensus building and negotiating skills.
