Position Summary:

Using hand and air powered tools, you will be manufacturing the parts that go into our custom equipment. The responsibilities of this role will include grinding, polishing and rolling stainless steel material, as well as operating punch presses, overhead crane, manual lathe, forming press, and testing equipment.

Reports To: Screens Supervisor

Essential Functions:

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate equipment in accordance with standard operating and quality assurance procedures.
  • Working with roll former (forming steel blanks) and trimming department (brake press, shearing)
  • Set-up spot weld machines and ability to spot weld
  • Perform routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes
  • Startup, adjustment and operation of machines used in production to ensure proper and efficient operation of dimpling machine
  • Setup and operation of forming equipment to ensure proper forming and fit of parts
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment such as grinders and sanders to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other material from surfaces of metal parts, castings and other metal products to achieve desired surface finish
  • Read blueprint, scan barcode, work order completion through data collection terminals.
  • Checking quality for finished products
  • Report and discuss concerns or requirements for assistance with leadership
  • Be flexible and open to changes in assignment to provide support to other areas of the department.
  • Perform general housekeeping / organization of work area.
  • Lifting, twisting, and bending
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of related manufacturing experience using hand, air grinding and spot welder tools
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Strong attention to detail and quality with the ability to inspect your own work
  • Ability to work well in a team and within a fast-paced environment


Language Skills:

  • English


Computer Skills:

  • Basic use of computers and RF scanners
