Reports to: Head of Group Sales
Location: Remote (US or Canada)
About the Role
Backcountry Group Sales connects our brands to the business community, serving corporate, medical, university, military, construction, hospitality, and other industry groups. This B2B program is growing and needs a driven, outbound-focused rep to build pipeline and fuel that growth.
As Sales Development Representative, Group Sales, you will own the top of the funnel — prospecting, outreach, and qualification — running outbound campaigns across email, phone, and LinkedIn to identify and engage prospective group accounts. This role is a proven path into Account Management: reps who master outbound prospecting and consistently deliver qualified pipeline are the first considered as Account Manager openings come up.
This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.
What You'll Do
- Generate pipeline through outbound email, phone outreach, and LinkedIn prospecting into target verticals such as military, construction, hospitality, and enterprise accounts
- Build and run repeatable outbound campaigns — sequences, messaging, and cadences — to consistently fill the top of the funnel
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads by understanding the prospect's needs and buying process
- Hand off qualified opportunities to an Account Manager with clean, complete context for a smooth close
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly pipeline and activity targets
- Build and maintain accurate records of all prospects and outreach activity in the CRM (Pipedrive)
- Use tools like Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and NetSuite to research, prospect, and track accounts
- Participate in ongoing procedural and sales training sessions to sharpen outbound skills and stay current on product knowledge
- Represent Backcountry values in every prospect interaction and internal handoff
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of outbound selling experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfort making high volumes of outbound calls and emails, and staying motivated through repetitive prospecting work
- Creativity in how you approach outreach — you don't rely on the same script
- General understanding of B2B buying processes and outbound principles
- Comfort with CRM and sales tech (Pipedrive, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar)
- Coachable — open to feedback and eager to improve
- Flexible across time zones — this role can be worked from any US or Canadian time zone
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B, group, or corporate sales
- ABM or lead generation experience
- Experience with a sales methodology (Sandler, MEDDIC, SPIN, GAP)
- Background in tech or outdoor industries
- Interest in growing into an Account Manager role over time
Why Join
- Clear Growth Path: This role is the on-ramp to Account Management — your outbound results are your promotion case.
- Training and Development: Structured sales training and hands-on coaching from your manager accelerate your outbound craft.
- Trusted From Day One: You own your pipeline and outreach strategy, with your work directly fueling revenue growth across Account Management and marketing.
