The Opportunity:

We’re looking to fill an opening for a Sales Compensation Manager to join our Total Rewards team.

Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, the Sales Compensation Manager is responsible for overseeing sales incentive compensation at Aviso. This role will design and implement incentive compensation plans across all business lines to meet strategic business goals. Partnership with Aviso’s Sales, Finance and People teams will be instrumental in establishing streamlined processes and effective incentive programs that comply with corporate governance. This is a highly visible position, collaborating with senior leadership to promote effective incentive plan development in a growth environment, thereby driving Aviso’s financial performance.

What your day looks like:

  • Develops and implements effective sales incentive programs, which include compensation plans, special incentives and sales contests, for the Aviso sales force. These programs will align with Aviso business objectives, drive sales performance and motivate and reward the team for achieving sales and other performance metrics; The incumbent will lead associated design initiatives as well as the annual set-up of sales plans including management of work plans, stakeholders, external vendors and communications
  • Partners with the Commission team, providing support and guidance in the administration of programs. Monitors and tracks sales incentive program results, sales performance and compensation payouts to ensure fairness and effectiveness. Provides reports on trends and insights to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Ensures compliance of incentive programs with regulatory and internal policies. Develops and maintains all relevant plan policies and guidelines, including sales incentive plan terms and conditions
  • Develops and fosters relationships with sales teams, sales leaders and other key stakeholders. Collaborates with these groups to understand business goals, sales strategies, and key performance indicators in order to design effective sales incentive programs. Clearly and transparently communicates incentive programs to stakeholders
  • Conducts research and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of existing sales incentive programs and to proactively make recommendations for improvements. This includes staying updated on industry trends and best practices related to sales incentive programs to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Post Secondary Education in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Human Resources, or Accounting (or equivalent). Accounting designation or MBA considered an asset
  • 7+ years of relevant experience and 3+ years of experience designing, communicating and administering sales incentive programs across multiple sales functions
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP) is an asset
  • Experience within the Financial Services industry, specifically in asset management and investment management is an asset
  • Proven quantitative and analytical skills; ability to define, measure, and plan performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvements and savings. Demonstrable ability to use such data to shape, form, and influence best practices in sales incentive program design
  • Verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate an ability to interact with sales personnel, senior management, external vendors and cross functional partners
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
  • Ability to create thoughtful, compelling presentations that tell a story for senior executive audiences. Ability to translate complex data and concepts into clear and actionable insights
  • Knowledge of labor laws and equity practices to ensure incentive plans meet legal and ethical standards
  • Organized, detail-oriented, results-driven, and committed to quality and accuracy
  • Self-directed, creative and able to multi-task effectively
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $93,000 - $113,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
