Design and assess network security architectures for on-premises and Azure environments. Validate IP ranges, routing, DNS and firewall configurations; design and implement site-to-site VPNs and Azure-side VPN connectivity; configure Azure Firewall and VPN Gateway components; support Azure Migrate readiness, VM sizing, migration prerequisites, and Defender/backup monitoring baselines; provide limited VPN/routing triage and smoke-testing.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, researching, and
designing security architectures within the IT network
- Reviewing
current network security measures, recommending enhancements, and architecting
around identified areas of weakness
- Developing and reviewing the
installation requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, and related
network devices for client approval
- Researching and designing public
key infrastructures, certification authorities, and digital signatures
Deliverables
- Review high-level network
topology, perform network assessment and address gaps
- Confirm site-to-site VPN
requirements, including Toronto / 777 to GDC and Toronto / 777 to Azure, as
applicable.
- Validate IP ranges, routing, DNS,
firewall, and migration-related connectivity dependencies.
- Design the Azure-side VPN
connectivity approach.
- Configure Azure-side VPN Gateway
/ Local Network Gateway components, where required.
- Coordinate on-premises / GDC VPN
device-side configuration with OSC or OSC’s network/firewall resources.
- Implement Azure firewall
- Perform site-to-site VPN
connectivity smoke testing.
- Provide limited VPN / routing
issue triage for migration-related connectivity issues.
- Validate target Azure resource
placement for migrated workloads.
- Review Azure Migrate project /
appliance readiness.
- Confirm target VM sizing and disk
configuration.
- Configure migration project and
replication prerequisites.
- Prepare target network/security
settings for migrated VMs.
- Prepare backup, monitoring, and
Defender baseline plan for migrated workloads.
Requirements
Must Haves:
- 7+ years experience
- Implement Azure firewall
- Developing and reviewing the installation requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, and related network devices
