Role Description

As Revenue Accountant, you will join a world-class revenue accounting team that consistently delivers high-quality results while maintaining a strong team culture. You will support the revenue accounting team and play a key role in the monthly close and quarterly reporting process. This role contributes collaboratively to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls. The Revenue Accountant will report to the Revenue Manager and will help drive process improvement projects as Dropbox continues to grow and evolve. This role may require light travel to the Company’s HQ in San Francisco or other locations.

Responsibilities

  • Key contributor in the monthly and quarterly financial close, ensuring accurate and timely results are delivered to management
  • Assist in the design and scaling of revenue accounting processes, including revenue recognition and deferred revenue related to Dropbox products
  • Support new product launches and business initiatives by providing guidance to business teams for accounting and reporting requirements
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations, monitor subledger and journal entry automations, assist with flux analyses, and contribute to the quarterly financial reporting process
  • Develop and document processes and controls, and identify opportunities for streamlining processes and increasing automation to improve the speed and efficiency of the monthly revenue close
  • Work closely with Dropbox’s ITS team to implement thoughtful system improvements and automation
  • Process owner of key controls in the order-to-cash cycle; ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Support external and internal audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility
  • Assist with and manage various ad-hoc projects as needed

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting/Finance, CPA license preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in revenue accounting, including public accounting experience
  • Top performer who is willing to dive into the details and who is looking to gain experience and grow with Dropbox
  • Detail-oriented with great organizational skills, but also comfortable with ambiguity
  • Experience setting up or improving Accounting processes
  • Experience in applying revenue accounting guidance (ASC 606) and related reporting for SaaS companies a plus
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate large amounts of transactional data to produce monthly journal entries and prepare ad hoc analyses

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Payment Processors (Adyen, Braintree, Paymentech) and has experience international transactions and currency translation
  • Experience with Oracle ERP
  • Public accounting background with Big 4” accounting firm

Compensation

Canada Pay Range

$88,400$119,600 CAD
