Overall Objectives

The Research Manager has primary oversight in managing all phases of market research for a large volume of primary market research projects.  This position is specifically focused on offering solution-based recommendations for unique and challenging projects within set timelines, ensuring high quality standards and flawless execution.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management to ensure market research initiatives are designed to meet client business needs and deliver on communicated timelines and deliverables, including:
  • Conducting project kick-off meetings with pharmaceutical clients and Account Directors
  • Frequent communication (email and telephone) with pharmaceutical clients throughout project life cycle
  • Generating and maintaining project timelines
  • Questionnaire design, review and formatting
  • Coordinating and guiding cross-functional project teams, including close liaison with: Research Associates, Operations Project Managers, Survey Programming/QC, Advanced Analytics, Coding and Data Analysis, and Charting/Visualization teams
  • Troubleshooting any potential project issues and proactively generating and implementing solutions
  • Creating analysis plans and structure of report deliverables
  • Development of written reports for clients, focusing on solutions-based recommendations
  • Presentation of written reports, both via telephone and in person
  • Developing close working relationships with Research Associates
  • Providing direction and input to Associate staff in any and all project phases where warranted
  • Identifying opportunities and implementing key training initiatives to enhance and improve deliverables
  • Acting as an internal brand and category “expert” for majority of projects managed within a relevant therapy/practice area
  • Supporting business development activities of sales staff 

Reporting Structure 

Reports in to Research Director 

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (i.e. life sciences, business, marketing)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in quantitative market research including writing questionnaires and servicing clients
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical and healthcare market research fieldwork process an advantage
  • Demonstrated knowledge of market research and ability to perform & execute complex projects, demonstrated excellence in project management
  • Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • True team player
  • Independent self-motivator
  • Aptitude for critical thinking 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SPSS, Tableau, and Google Slides a benefit.
