Job Description

The Regional HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing HR activities at multiple manufacturing sites in Eastern Canada including direct support and guidance to local HR Business Partners, employee & labour relations management, training and organizational development and coaching leaders in alignment with the organization’s strategy and culture. The position supports operations in eastern Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada but can be located in Toronto with frequent travel.

When You Join Us, You Will

  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues by partnering with the Site Leaders and local HR Business Partner.

  • Where applicable, support the day to day administration of the CBA and participate in union negotiations by preparing and contributing key HR data.

  • Work with Site Leaders and Operation Directors to identify, create and implement innovative human resources solutions that enhance business performance specific to manufacturing.

  • Partner with Corporate HR to champion, execute and monitor the effectiveness of corporate programs and initiatives.

  • Equip managers with the tools and training to optimize their performance and work with leaders to create and ensure successful completion of individual development plans.

  • Support the talent review and succession planning processes using a consultative approach that ensures a strong talent bench.

  • Work with Corporate Training, develop and facilitate leadership training from Plant Managers to Supervisors.

  • Partner with the recruiting team to acquire top talent through improved selection tools and criteria, and local outreach efforts.

  • Cultivate internal talent, participating in key role promotional decisions and ensure local relationships to recruiters to assist in timely recruitment.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, state and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Communicate, interpret and apply company policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct.

  • Work with the Corporate HR team to execute corporate initiatives and provide feedback & insight from the various sites.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • University degree, preferably in Human Resources Management

  • Previous manufacturing/industry experience (an advantage)

  • 10 years’ experience as a generalist HR and/or HR Business Partner

  • Proficient in all areas of Federal & State or Provincial employment law and human rights legislation

  • Bilingual, fluent in English and French

  • Ability to problem solve using critical thinking

  • Project management

  • Strong communication skills

  • Database & MS Office incl. HRIS, Excel, PPT and other computer skills

  • Organized and detail oriented

  • Confident in a fast paced environment being able to manage competing priorities
