What it’s like to be a Northbridge Regional Advanced Group Specialist

As an essential member of the Group and Individual Insurance MGA team, you would be contributing to the growth of the Group Employee Benefits business. You would be joining the newly formed division Vertis Insurance under the Accident and Health umbrella. In other words, your contributions would help support building Vertis Insurance ground up. No two days would be the same! You would get to see your work come to life by increasing production and promoting carrier partner products through proactive and working with advisor to achieve their sales goals and objectives, as well as Vertis'

You would be integral in cultivating relationship with key partners accounts team, responding to requests to support the advisors on sales cases, practice managements for advisors that are aligned within the territory and will connect advisors to carrier partner resources, tools, and education platform to enhance the advisors’ success. There is an element of proactive and reactive activity with supporting advisors as well as assisting with face-to-face client meetings

We will look to you to provide integrated Group Benefits sales and advice to the advisors, as well as during a client meeting.  Your knowledge of group benefits strategies for traditional, flexible, ASOs and complex benefits plans will be a valuable asset to our team!

We want your talent

If you are great at:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key agency partner advisors, key brokers, and top productive advisors
  • Reviewing contract booklets while working with group carriers’ account managers to prepare market specification analysis and quotes
  • Providing benefit solution alternatives for incumbent plans with focus on cost savings, benefits enhancements, implementing proactive solutions, evaluate plan design and cost for competitiveness
  • Negotiating new and/or renewal rates with group benefits providers on behalf of advisors
  • Leading and conducting group benefits client meeting – in person or virtual

If you have:

  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent on the job experience
  • Life and A&S license
  • Minimum 5 to 7+ years’ experience in the insurance industry
  • Strong comfort level meeting with clients in an advisory capacity
  • Strong knowledge of insurance trends
