Job Description
As part of the Property Operations team, the Receiving Coordinator (Position will be titled Dock Master) oversees the daily operation, upkeep, and organization of the loading dock(s) within a mixed-use rental community. This task-focused role manages receiving, inspecting, and directing deliveries while ensuring the dock is maintained to the same high standards of cleanliness and care as all Tricon spaces.The Receiving Coordinator serves as a welcoming point of contact for vendors, movers, commercial tenants, residents, delivery drivers, and internal team members. Every interaction should reflect Tricon’s commitment to exceptional service. Key responsibilities include coordinating move-ins, move-outs, and scheduled deliveries; maximizing dock usage through thoughtful scheduling; and upholding all safety and operational procedures.
Through attentive maintenance and friendly, solutions-oriented service, the Dock Master/Receiver ensures the loading dock is safe, orderly, and consistently provides a positive experience for all who use it.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Dock Operations
- Be present at the loading dock for the entire shift
- Oversee loading and unloading of goods at dock areas while monitoring the flow of goods to ensure timely delivery
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with drivers and carriers with commercial tenants and property management team.
- Coordinate the schedule and allocation of the dock space for deliveries and pickups
- Receive all goods for the residential property management and communicate to commercial tenants when their goods arrive
- Managing residential move in/out and residential deliveries
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce safety regulations and best practices at the loading docks.
- Conduct regular safety checks and inspections
- Ensure compliance with OSHA (WHMIS or CCOHS in Canada) and facility-specific safety policies
- Perform file triage of certifications and inspections, participate in JHSC
- Foster a collaborative and safe work environment
Facility Management
- Assist with preparing waste for pick up for both residential and commercial tenants
- Upon arrival of grease trap truck, ensure area is prepared for extraction.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the loading docks, waste bins and equipment
- Ensure equipment such as overhead doors, bins, lifts and dollies are in good working order
- Report any maintenance issues to management promptly
- Manage and track supplies related to dock operations
Communication and Coordination
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Address issues or delays in dock operations promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate logs of dock activities and inventory movements.
- Attend team meetings and trainings to ensure our standards and service levels are adhered to
Qualifications:
- Experience in dock or receiving operations, preferably in a retail environment.
- Strong understanding of loading dock safety and logistics processes.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
- Physical ability to perform tasks associated with loading and unloading (lifting, standing, moving)
- Certification in tractor and forklift operation an asset
Work Environment:
- Loading dock areas in commercial retail, and residential facilities.
- Exposure to various weather conditions when working with open docks.
- Exposure to loud noises and heightened levels of dust and dirt

Salary Range
Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.
$47,340.00 - $71,000.00This position is eligible for an attractive benefits and wellness package and an incentive opportunity of: 7%
