Job Description
Job Purpose
As a Contract Quoting Associate (18 months), you will be responsible for completing quotation requests in a professional, accurate, and timely manner to our customers in addition to answering other inquiries from the customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify products requested by customers based on their inquiry
- Be able to identify the correct category of quote inquiry (bulk, catalogue, custom, etc.)
- Collaborate with internal departments to collate necessary information to create quote
- Issue pricing on catalogue, non-bulk catalogue products, and solutions
- Draft pricing on bulk and custom products
- Input quotations in database: including Customer Profile, pricing, availability, minimum order quantities, payment terms, special tests, and shipping charges
- Collaborate with commercial team to follow-up on high-dollar value opportunities
- Answer customer phone calls
- Escalate specific customer requests (i.e, NDAs, LOAs, complaints)
- Prepare and manage timelines of assigned quotation requests
- Run reports and metrics as required
- Any additional tasks assigned
Qualifications
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline and/or Business, Supply Chain with some relevant exposure to working with chemicals.
Competencies Required
- 2-3 Years' experience working in a customer service role or equivalent
- Experience in the Chemical industry would be an asset
- Proficient in all Microsoft office programs and FileMaker Pro, Advanced MS Excel
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, time management, and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Details oriented
- Self-starter; task oriented with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team and achieve results in a team environment
