As a QA Manager, you will work closely with teams of friendly, dedicated and smart individuals across various departments, such as Product Management, Design, Engineering, Release Management, DevOps, IT, Marketing and Customer Support to understand the product vision and ensure our mobile and web applications and backend services meet and exceed the highest quality industry standards. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of your supported product portfolio by ensuring that proper QA processes, effective planning, and timely execution are adhered to for all releases. In addition, you will be responsible for setting the QA team’s technical vision, roadmap as well as developing and tracking project schedules. You will also be responsible for improving world-class automation and manual testing strategies, so you are encouraged to develop new ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement. Lastly, as a QA Team Lead / Manager, we want you to be challenged to build a high-performing QA team responsible for their career progression, journeys and performance appraisals.

About the Work

  • Lead a team of quality engineering professionals to ensure the highest product quality, on-time delivery, and that standard QA practices are adhered to 
  • Understand how all elements of the applications and systems will work together and develop QA approaches that fit the overall strategy. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand product vision, requirements and to provide support as required. 
  • Responsible for the development of test strategies and the creation of appropriate test artifacts with a focus on optimized testing coverage for every release 
  • Oversee the development and timely execution of test plans, monitoring and reporting on test execution and quality metrics as per release deadlines. 
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate qualitative and quantitative findings from tests, monitor bug resolution efforts and track results and known defects. 
  • Assist with the maintenance and development of the current regression test suite.
  • Continuously evolved the QA testing practices, test coverage, processes and tooling as required. 
  • Anticipate organizational and technical issues and provide detailed projections and issue post-mortems. 
  • Responsible for maximizing the development and use of automation testing to improve testing efficiency, coverage and delivery continuously 
  • Provide QA support for production releases and maintenance as required 
  • Other duties as required.

About You

  • Degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent knowledge and/or experience. 
  • Previous Quality Assurance Team Leadership / Management experience, preferably a thorough understanding of testing strategies, including automated, manual and performance testing. 
  • You are an experienced leader who brings the best out of your team. You ensure all team members are happy and challenged and remove team roadblocks as necessary. 
  • Experience with mobile platform app stores and release procedures. 
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion. 
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, time management and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • A deep understanding of quality assurance in a team and a track record of shipping/releasing applications on time and on a weekly basis.
  • Familiarity with mobile release cycles and a modern technology stack. 
  • Familiarity with mobile and web automation tools (Appium, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, UI Automator). 
  • NICE TO HAVE: Any programming language (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, etc.), automating tests at the unit, experience working at startups, Chatbot programming, passion for sports and/or esports. 
  • Test Management: TestRail, Cucumber 
  • Android SDK tools and/or Xcode 
  • Web/HTTP Proxy tools such as Charles Proxy 
  • Atlassian: Jira, Confluence 
  • Selenium, Appium, MacOS 
  • Sauselabs, Browserstack, Jenkins, Circle CI, App Center/Hockeyapp and Github
