Knak is a mission-driven company
Why? Because our time is limited, our competition is fierce, and our margin for error is small. For us to have the greatest impact on the world, we need to be laser focused on our core mission, which is...
Empowering people to be creative.
That’s why Knak exists.
We are a world-class enterprise email and landing page creation platform with a focus on making successful and happy customers by providing them with an incredibly powerful, yet easy to use creation platform.
Our industry leading SaaS solution is built by Marketers, for Marketers. We know that it’s the small things that make the biggest impact and that emails and landing pages are where the rubber hits the road when it comes to Marketing Automation. We change the way Marketers work by making them more efficient, while improving conversion rate of their campaigns and helping them stay on brand.
Oh, and we have a bit of fun while doing it, too!
Our Engineering Team:
At Knak, we build groundbreaking software used by marketers at many of the world’s top companies. As engineers, we foster a transparent, collaborative and blameless culture. We emphasize continuous learning and encourage our engineers to experiment in search of creative ways to solve problems and help our customers.
We have a small but rapidly growing team where you'll be given many opportunities to grow and hone your skills across our entire tech stack. Our belief is that to build great software, we have to equip ourselves with the best tools, technologies, and processes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a QA lead to join our growing engineering team. As a QA lead you will work with the existing QA teams to scale out robust processes and procedures to ensure that the Knak engineering team delivers exceptional quality products with minimal preventable defects. You will foster a culture of quality and develop testing strategies to be implemented across the engineering teams.
- Actively participate in manual testing of new code updates made by the engineering teams and develop a strategy for manual testing as the organization scales.
- Plan and prioritize QA related initiatives in a comprehensive roadmap based on the product development lifecycle.
- Establish the objectives, tools and processes to build automation testing processes that align with the product roadmap, company goals, and customer needs.
- Supervise the integration of automated tests into the existing CI/CD pipeline at every stage of the development cycle.
- Use observability tools to monitor errors and failures in the pre-production environment to help mitigate issues caused by erroneous code.
- Regularly monitor automated test results, analyze failures, and identify areas for improvement. Use metrics like test coverage, execution time, and defect detection rate to refine the automation strategy, enhance test reliability, and address gaps in the testing process.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering team leads, product management, and DevOps, to organize efforts and activities around manual testing of larger new releases.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience working with a software development team.
- 3+ years of experience leading a QA team
- Software development experience with a focus on using automated testing frameworks such as Jest and PHPUnit
- Extensive experience with end-to-end testing tools such as Playright
- Extensive experience in documenting quality requirements
- Extensive experience establishing QA best practices
- A keen eye for observability, monitoring, and performance in modern web applications
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices using GitHub Actions
- Excellent communication skills to work with software developers and product management.
The Ideal Candidate will have
- Experience mentoring and leading QA teams, fostering a collaborative environment, and promoting best practices in testing and quality assurance.
- Experience working with engineering teams on implementing best practice SaaS architecture/release concepts.
Goals
- Establish scalable QA workflows and methodologies that align with the company’s rapid development pace.
- Implement an e2e test automation strategy to improve efficiency and reduce manual testing overhead as Knak continues to grow.
- Define and monitor quality metrics to track progress and maintain high standards.
