QA Automation Developer

The ideal candidate will be involved in the development and maintenance of automated scripts. They will have to interact extensively with various on-site/off-site team members from their own team, including members from other teams, such as Function & Product, to understand application functionality and scope. Additionally, candidates will be involved in the set-up and maintenance of pre-production execution environments on physical & virtual (VMWare) desktops; development of batch scripts using VB Script, to facilitate the setup of test environments, in which to execute automated test scripts, and reporting of test execution metrics; verification/validation and tracking of defects in various release/iterations; analysis and validation of automated regression test script results. 

This role will give the candidate an opportunity to expand their technical skills by using the latest tools to support a dynamic business (real time event processing, pub/sub). In addition, the candidate will get a unique opportunity be involved in a development environment.

Required 
• Hands on experience developing complex VBScript, VB, or VB.Net tools and utilities 
• Hands on experience designing, developing, maintaining and analyzing automated test scripts 
• Hands on experience with 1 or more Object Oriented Language (C++, C#, Java, etc) 
• Good understanding of object oriented design & concepts 
• Good understanding of the software/product development life cycle 
• Great oral & written communication skills, including strong work ethic 
• Hands on experience with either HP QTP, HP QC, or Parasoft SOATest 
• Great oral & written communication skills, including strong work ethic 
Asset 
• Experience with data retrieval and validation using SQL or Oracle PL/SQL 
• Creation of MS Excel Macros 
• Working knowledge under, Agile, or Waterfall software development processes 
• Exposure to Rational Clear Case, CVS or other Source Code Control systems 
• Working with Collaboration sites & Content management sites such as MS Sharepoint
