Promo Scheduling Assistant, FAST Channels (1 Year Contract)

If you’ve ever discovered a new show because the right promo appeared at just the right moment, this is one of the roles that helps make that happen.

We’re looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Promo Scheduling Assistant to join our Creative team. You will support the day-to-day scheduling of the ad breaks on our FAST channels, helping manage promotional inventory, and ensuring completed logs are accurate and successfully delivered to our playout platforms.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their media career who enjoys working with both content and detailed operational systems. In addition, you will learn how FAST channels are assembled and delivered while helping keep multiple channels, campaigns, and schedules moving smoothly.

This role will work closely with the Senior Promo Scheduling Coordinator and is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance at our head office in Toronto for a minimum of three (3) days per week.

The anticipated salary for this role is $50,000 per year, with final compensation determined by experience and qualifications.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support the Promo Scheduler with day-to-day promotional scheduling across assigned FAST channels.
  • Help maintain promo inventory and ensure available promotional materials are accurately reflected in scheduling systems.
  • Schedule promos and cross-promotional content based on Marketing’s campaign priorities.
  • Support the preparation of commercial breaks, including filler placement, cue tones, and timing.
  • Review schedules for accuracy, timing, and other requirements prior to delivery.
  • Assist with delivering completed logs and schedules to playout platforms.
  • Monitor validation results, flag errors, and help coordinate required corrections and re-delivery.
  • Confirm successful schedule ingestion and escalate issues when needed.
  • Maintain accurate information across scheduling and project management systems.
  • Coordinate with Program Schedulers, Media Services, and other internal teams to gather information and resolve day-to-day scheduling issues.
  • Manage multiple schedules, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and deadlines at the same time.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
  • A methodical approach to checking your work and identifying errors.
  • Comfort working with detailed schedules, timing information, and data.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to ask questions and escalate issues when needed.
  • Post-secondary education in Media, Broadcast, Communications or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in television, streaming, scheduling, or broadcast operations is an asset, but not required.
  • An interest in television and streaming content.
