Job Description:

The Project Sourcing Specialist is accountable for business development/new product procurement activities, supplier qualification and supports/leads project/process improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for new product development procurement activities
  • Achieve best-in-class results including but not limited to component planning, Bill of Material costing, preferred supplier usage, preferred parts percentage utilization, optimal supplier lead times/minimum order quantities, requisite materials available prior to product launch, meet/exceed cost or margin targets at product launch, successful hand off of inventory management (stocking/planning) to the buyer/planner, in conjunction with supply chain operations set-up new parts for ordering
  • Champion and manage early supplier involvement
  • Procurement responsibilities met or exceeded as tracked and measured by the new product project leader and purchasing/planning managers including but not limited to pro-actively populating project management tracking tools to measure project performance and deliverables
  • Responsible to coordinate all functional (logistics, planning, sourcing, buying and inventory) supply chain activities
  • Collaborate with cross functional team members including operations, engineering, purchasing, inventory, logistics, finance, marketing and 3rd party partners to meet project objectives including but not limited to participating in make vs. buy recommendations to management for approval
  • Must possess relevant technical skills to be seen as credible by stakeholders, peers and managers
  • Develop and/or implement best-in-class processes and procedures
  • Lead workshops, kaizens, and train associates on lean/sourcing tools and processes to drive improvements
  • Develop new and/or implement existing tools to deliver quality, delivery cost or innovations efficiencies
  • Support/Lead other projects and/or process improvement objectives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Supply Chain/Operations experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High degree of business ethics and accountability
  • Leadership and application of lean tools and principles to drive improvements
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Proficient with ERP systems
  • Effective in both written and verbal communications
  • Able to travel up to 20% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • APICS certification for CSCP
  • APICS certification for CPIM
  • ISM certification for CPSM
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT:ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time
  • Primary work environment is professional corporate
