We are looking for a Project Manager (PM) to help translate raw data into meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making.

The Opportunity

Summary

The Project Manager (PM) owns Project Budget and Timelines within TheAppLabb. The PM oversees all aspects of projects, managing timelines, resources, and risks to ensure successful delivery within the agreed scope, time, and cost. This includes establishing deadlines, delegating tasks, and tracking progress and budgets.

In addition to project delivery, the PM will support recruitment efforts by helping identify, screen, and onboard new team members for project roles. The PM may also be involved in pre-sales activities such as contributing to proposals, estimating project scope/timelines, and participating in client calls during the sales process.

The PM is also responsible for presenting regular reports to senior management and client stakeholders about project status.


What you will do?


  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget including budget and timing checks within every Sprint
  • Manage Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid project cycles
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans
  • Communicate project status updates to stakeholders through weekly status reports and other communication channels
  • Manage partner relationships, including coordinating with vendors and other external parties on-shore and off-shore
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize project efficiency, productivity and quality
  • Create and manage billing reports, invoices, burn reports (actuals versus budgeted) and other financial documents related to the project such as overhead expenses
  • Track project expenses and ensure all billing is accurate and timely
  • Manage project deadlines and key milestones, ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time and to the required quality standards
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all project tasks are completed as planned
  • Identify potential roadblocks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate any issues that arise
  • Provide regular updates to upper management on project progress and any potential risks or issues
  • Plan Sprint retrospective meetings and evaluate project performance
    Collaborate with Product Owners and Account Managers to manage project deadlines, budgets and client expectations
  • Manage code release approvals and signoffs in coordination with the Account Manager
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation on Confluence
  • Meet with clients to capture briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Support recruitment efforts for project roles, including identifying needs, participating in screening, and onboarding new hires
  • Contribute to pre-sales activities, such as project scoping, effort estimation, and client proposal input
  • Other duties, as assigned


What you'll need?

 Formal Education or Equivalent

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field such as business, engineering, or project management
  • PMP Certification is preferred
  • Scrum Master Certification is a bonus


Competencies

  • Excellent leadership skills, to motivate and guide team members, delegate tasks, and manage conflicts
  • Good understanding of technical project with a focus on Custom Software Development expertise for mobile apps or web apps
  • Experience creating project plans and managing project risks
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, facilitate meetings, and create reports
  • Organizational skills, including the ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Good understanding of the technical aspects of the project, including the tools, techniques, and processes used to manage the project
  • Excellent understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle for Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid projects
  • Great risk management skills, identify, assess, and mitigate project risks

Specialized skills, knowledge or certifications unique to this role

  • Proficient in JIRA & Confluence
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
  • Proficient in resourcing management tools
  • Experience in measuring metrics using JIRA
  • Strong knowledge of mobile app development methodologies
