Gore Mutual is on a transformation journey and as part of our growth trajectory we are building & enhancing a solid Enterprise Project Management Office. To continue our journey forward, we are looking to onboard a Project Manager who has extensive experience in Technology & Business related projects.
Key Accountabilities
- Project Delivery & Governance: Accountable for overall project delivery and adherence to governance standards
- Risk and dependencies Management: Responsible to proactively identify, document, socialize and manage Project Risks
- Financial Management: Accountable to establish Project Budget, perform monthly financial governance activities, financial reconciliation and adherence to Change control governance
- Resource and Vendor Management: Responsible to identify, in partnership with technical leads, resource skills sets required (both internal as well as external) for project delivery
- Communications and Stakeholder Relationship Management: Accountable for effective communication and relationship management with all stakeholder groups, including project team, sponsors, executives as well as third parties
What will you do in this Role:
- Strong Communication skills cross levels of organization with experience managing diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proactively communicate throughout the various phases of the project lifecycle and drive to meet the Project deliverables to intended Business Outcomes. Strike successful partnerships with Business and other stakeholders to enable cohesiveness in overall project delivery. Build mutually beneficial internal/external client relationships through the relentless pursuit of excellence.
- A depth and breadth of experience in small, medium and large projects.
- Worked on program, IT, Marketing and Finance projects for the business.
- Coached and mentored other project managers, sponsors, project team members
- Developed tools, templates, tip and techniques for other project managers
- Exposure to various project management methods and approaches
- Communicates well with C-Level executives and stakeholders and is able to serve as a trusted advisor to them
- Understands complex group dynamics and demonstrates advanced facilitation skills
- Has experience working on and leading change and a working knowledge of how people and organizations change
- Places value on the human as well as the technical aspects of the change and understands how each is dependent on the other
- Ability to sense the important issues of the situation and respond appropriately
- An effective project manager can articulate the vision to his team members very well. A visionary person can lead his people to the right direction as well as easily adapt to the changes that come in the way. They are good at empowering people to experience the vision on their own.
- One of the qualities needed for effective project management is the ability to negotiate. In times that conflict arise due to differences in opinion, project managers need sheer negotiating skills to settle the issue and maintain harmony in the team.
What will you need to succeed in this Role:
- 9+ years of experience in Technology & Business related Projects
- 6+ years of experience in Insurance Industry
- Finance Industry experience
- PMP Certification is preferred
- Guidewire project experience is preferred
- Larger Scale projects with Operational Change Management Experience
- Vendor Management experience
- Stakeholder collaboration with Strong negotiation skills
- Effective Communication skills at all levels of organization
Hybrid: Cambridge & or Toronto (This is a hybrid role that includes the flexibility to work remotely. Regular 1-2 days of in-person collaboration is expected at our Toronto or Cambridge Office location).
