Your Opportunity

Stantec is actively seeking a Project Manager for our Transportation team located in Hamilton, London, or Waterloo, Ontario office. This group provides consulting services for Class Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, and Detail Design projects for public sector clients, including the Ministry of Transportation Ontario [MTO], several Ontario Southwest/GTA municipalities, as well as Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Directing roadway design staff, and managing multi-discipline project teams
  • Financial management of projects including budget forecasting, resource management, change-order management, and client invoicing
  • Developing proposals, budgets and schedules, and on-going business development and liaison with clients, both internal and external to Stantec
  • Collaborating with Transportation Leaders and other Project Managers to identify staffing, equipment, and training requirements
  • Supporting the Stantec Quality Management System, and promoting Stantec’s Environmental Health & Safety program
  • Ensuring that the required functions of the project are implemented to meet standards
  • Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Building a strong culture of quality design and teamwork

Qualifications
  • You are a highly motivated, registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, and have more than 10 years of related and applied work experience. The ideal candidate will also have the following additional skills and qualifications:
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication and customer relationship skills are essential
  • Experienced in project management on MTO and/or Ontario municipal road projects
  • Experienced in SW Ontario public sector projects will set you apart from your peer group
  • Experienced in report and proposal writing
  • Experienced roadway design

Education and Experience

  • University or college degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in the field of road design and construction
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or LEL) is required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years demonstrated experience with roadway project management responsibilities 

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather
