The Project Manager, will be responsible for the end-to-end project management of technical and business projects, within Interac’s project portfolio. You will drive the end-to-end project plan, from building out the specs to liaising directly with external partners, managing the details as well as the big picture. You are capable of responding resourcefully to challenging situations and can foster a calming influence on others.    

You will build effective relationships with project stakeholders, removing roadblocks and driving the work of an innovative team. You will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the project management approach, strategy, and processes.

You'll be responsible for:

  • End-to-end project management for multiple cross-functional projects varying in size and complexity, including detailed planning, budgeting, reporting, implementation, and change management. 

  • Planning and executing projects as per EPMO processes and methodology.

  • Effectively managing change to project scope, and taking active leadership in timely decision making. 

  • Managing, measuring, and reporting on project scope, schedule, risk and health indicators according to the defined reporting standards, KPIs, governance structure, and rules of engagement.  

  • Preparing, maintaining, and reporting on project budgets, including leading the tracking and accounting of project-related expenditures.  

  • Establishing project schedules, managing communications and scope and overseeing project delivery. 

  • Driving project communications to project sponsors and senior management.

  • Leading and facilitating project retrospectives and requirement sessions, documenting outcomes and following up on actions assigned to ensure completion. 

  • Managing project resources, and leading project team members, providing administrative oversight of the resources throughout the lifecycle of the project. 

  • Managing vendor or third party relationships, as required by the needs of the project. 

  • Managing inter-team dependencies and resolving scheduling conflicts for activities that are performed by internal and vendor teams. 

  • Working with the EPMO team and cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve project management practices and methodology.

You bring:

  • 3+ years experience managing technical and business projects, preferably in the financial services industry, information technology, product development and/or business transformation.  

  • A university degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combined relevant work experience and certifications.

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.   

  • A PMP certification or Scrum Master certification is preferred.

  • A strong working experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Planview PPM. 

  • Experience in technology delivery in support of product development and infrastructure projects.  

  • Focus on accomplishing every milestone while ensuring processes are followed and issues are proactively dealt with. You are highly detail oriented and meticulous.  

  • The ability to respond calmly and resourcefully to challenging situations, roadblocks, conflicts and change requests. You are a skilled negotiator and navigator.

  • Expertise in working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify business challenges and to develop effective strategies to realize visions and increase adoption.

  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written. You can effectively influence and work with people at all levels.

  • The ability to anticipate, understand and respond to the needs of internal and external project partners. You are driven to meet or exceed expectations. You are a forward thinker and can innovate solutions to keep the project - and the business - moving forward. 

  • A mindset to thrive in a changing environment and welcome the opportunity to lead and implement growth and opportunity. 

  • The ability to influence work in a multi-functional team environment with rapidly changing priorities under tight deadlines. You are flexible and open to the ideas of others.
