This role drives process improvements, leads capital and expense projects, and owns IT/OT and MES connectivity across the site. The position reports to the Plant Engineering & Maintenance Leader and plays a critical part in enabling automation, digital transformation, and operational efficiency.

In this role, you will:

Capital Projects & Process Improvements

  • Lead CAPEX projects that support safety, quality, cost savings, controls, and IT/MES upgrades.
  • Lead 2–3 projects simultaneously—ensuring timelines, scope, and budgets are met.
  • Apply Clorox Capital Project Management best practices using SAP S4 Hana.
  • Prepare and review AFEs, ensuring clear business justification and alignment with plant priorities.
  • Support packaging line improvements to increase efficiency and throughput, using tools such as Sage Clarity, Aveva MES, LEDS, and Power BI.

Automation, Controls & Technical Support

  • Provide hands-on technical support for automation, packaging, maintenance, and operations.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred) and robotic systems to enhance reliability and productivity.
  • Review and improve electrical and controls PMs, ensuring accuracy and standardization.
  • Lead the EIC 5-Year Plan and ensure alignment with broader capital strategies.
  • Ensure all engineering work meets Clorox standards, OEM requirements, and regulatory/safety policies.

IT/OT & Network Ownership

  • Serve as the plant’s primary resource for IT/OT network operations and digital manufacturing systems.
  • Lead all aspects of reliability, security, and performance of the LAN, business network, and manufacturing IT/OT infrastructure.
  • Manage system upgrades, device monitoring, cybersecurity controls, backups, and audits for data integrity.
  • Support key production systems (badge card access, reporting databases, MES) and lead technology life-cycle planning.

Documentation, Standards & Governance

  • Own and maintain all plant electrical drawings and user documentation.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent update and revision schedule.
  • Support standardization of equipment and controls; acquire required approvals through the Platform Team as needed.
  • Ensure clear communication with OEMs regarding major equipment or technology decisions.
  • Produce standardized documentation for Training, Quality, Production, and Engineering.

Collaboration, Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate internal teams and external partners to complete project work.
  • Manage vendors and contractors, ensuring quality and alignment to Clorox standards.
  • Mentor plant personnel on EIC topics, providing governance, problem solving guidance, and technical leadership.
  • Participate in cross-plant Communities of Practice for knowledge sharing and alignment on EIC tools and standards.
  • Identify and implement productivity, cost savings, and operational improvement opportunities.

What we look for:

  • Post-secondary education in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related Technologist program.
  • 3–5 years of experience in the role in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to EIC, automation, or controls engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of Project Management experience, with ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with controls systems, IT/OT networks, Allen-Bradley PLCs, CAD tools, Excel, Outlook, and SAP S4 (assets).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; highly organized and thorough.
  • Solid time management and prioritization capabilities.
