Job Purpose & Scope

The stone wool line Supervisor, Production is responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the stone wool production line. This role ensures safe, efficient, and stable production in alignment with quality standards, production plans, ROPEX principles, and company policies. The supervisor leads a team of operators and technicians, driving performance, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture.

The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 CAD. Your base salary is determined based on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions.

Your future team:

You will become part of the Plant Operations & Production team managing a team of 10-15 people and reporting to the Production Manager.

What you will be doing:

  • Supervise, coach, and develop Operators at all levels, fostering accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all activities meet health, safety, and environmental standards while promoting a zero-incident culture.
  • Oversee daily production schedules, ensuring products are manufactured on time, to specification, and within budget.
  • Monitor processes, resolve issues, and implement improvements to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct shift meetings, maintain records, and provide clear updates on performance, challenges, and solutions.
  • Partner with leadership to implement process improvements, training, and development initiatives that strengthen the team and operation.

What you bring:

  • Vocational/technical degree or apprenticeship in industrial production, mechanical, chemical, process, or a related field (higher technical education such as engineering or production management is an asset).
  • 4-5 years of experience in industrial or continuous process manufacturing; experience within stone wool, insulation, glass, or other mineral-based industries is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team-lead role within a production environment.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end process operations (e.g., melting, fibre formation, curing, cutting, and packaging).
  • Knowledge of machinery, automation, and process control systems (SCADA, PLC, HMI).
  • Experience working with ROPEX, Lean, or similar production systems, including daily visual management.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and problem-solving tools/methodologies (e.g., ROPEX tools, Lean, 5 Why, Ishikawa).
  • Solid hands-on safety and quality standards relevant to manufacturing operations.
  • Strong experience with MS Office products, such as Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Project.
