Perform production-line tasks including picking, sorting, packing, following work instructions, maintaining food-safety and equipment safety procedures, removing waste, and supporting continuous improvement (5S/Kaizen) in a refrigerated meat processing environment.

Meaty Meats is a specialty retailer focusing on fresh organic meats and charcuterie. We operate two locations in the GTA, focusing on quality goods, curated product selection, and customer experiences.
The Production Associate forms an integral part of the Meaty Meats manufacturing process. The successful candidate will be guided by a structured set of work instructions when performing all required tasks within the production facility. All staff adhere to and comply with HACCP, CFIA requirements, and company policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing tasks at various positions on all lines of production
- Pick, sort, and pack products onto trays
- Read, follow, and perform tasks as directed in work instructions
- Perform tasks assigned by the supervisor or the manufacturing manager
- Adhere to machine/equipment safety procedures
- Removal of waste materials
- Demonstrate use of the 5S approach at all times
- Adhere to and comply with the standards and expectations of all food safety programs
- Report any health and safety incidents or issues to the Supervisor
Working Conditions:
- Food manufacturing environment - wet and/or damp floor, noise level below 85 decibels, smell of raw meats, sights of blood from the meats
- Temperature ranges from 4 degrees Celsius
- Regular work week: Monday - Friday, 7:40 am - 4:30 pm
- Occasional requirement to perform duties and responsibilities after office hours.
Education:
- High school or equivalent
- Food safety handling certification will be an asset
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience in a food processing facility, preferably in the meat processing industry
- Able to stand for long hours
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Attention to detail
- Familiar with workplace health and safety, lockout/tagout, machine hazards, 5S, Kaizen, HACCP, and CFIA
- Exhibit ability to work in a team, accommodate differences, and be willing to make adjustments to meet the overall goals.
