Position Overview
SpryPoint builds fantastic web and mobile applications using cutting-edge technologies. As the Product Owner for the Small Applications Team (SAT) at SpryPoint, you will be at the helm of a distinctive portfolio of smaller, high-impact applications. These products require a nimble and strategic approach to prioritize and deliver value to our customers while aligning with the broader product roadmap.
This role demands a generalist mindset, blending strategic thinking with a solid technical foundation to effectively manage the SAT Team’s product backlog. You will develop deep expertise in our industry, products, and user base, enabling you to collaborate with stakeholders and product teams effectively. Additionally, you’ll play a vital role in fostering user community education and enablement, ensuring our applications deliver exceptional value and usability.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating discovery sessions with both internal and external stakeholders to refine existing product features and uncover new features
- Managing and evaluating product ideas from multiple sources both internal and external
- Facilitating feedback loops throughout the development cycle to ensure ideas translate to valuable products
- Working closely with a Development Team Lead to ensure the successful delivery of product
- Engaging with Service Delivery on specific project requirements and influencing customer transition timelines
- Supporting the Development team through the SCRUM sprint cycles
- Liaise with Customer Success to identify patterns and trends in customer issues and enhancement requests
- Providing demonstrations of your products to internal and external stakeholders
- New feature education to support user enablement - both internal to the company and external to our customers
- Collaborate on the definition of product management processes and best practices, internal education around processes and best practices
- Collaborate with the Product Manager on the definition of objectives and key results for the SAT Team products
- Collaborating with the product management team on Quality Management practices through the design, develop and release cycles
- Providing forecasts on when items will be available in the product
- Supporting the sales process for estimating quotable development work
- Collaborating with business development with responses to RFPs and Statement of Work documents
Qualifications and Competencies
- Experience in the Utilities Industry
- Proven experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban.
- You are thorough and detail-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize accordingly
- You have a tendency to be positive, creative and curious
- Understanding of system design & analysis
- Familiarity with API design and integration
- You thrive on working closely and collaborating with others whether they be internal to the firm, or directly with our customers.
