As a Product Owner, you will have end-to-end responsibility for the work undertaken by a given initiative. The initiatives tie back to our annual company goals and growth plans. You will be working closely with stakeholders, developers and designers. You will have the crucial responsibility of keeping the team focused on building innovative solutions that exceed client expectations.
You will be part of the team building a Cloud platform that encompasses data ingestion, management, and analytics to enable distributors to create solutions for accountants and auditors. You will drive the product execution while also playing a key role in shaping the product vision.

❗Please note, that this role is hybrid. The successful candidate will be working 3 days a week from our Toronto office located at 351 King St E, Toronto, ON

What you will be doing:

  • Represent and be the champion and voice of customers.
  • Have a clear understanding of Caseware strategic priorities and how our products and services align to it.
  • Focus on eliminating pain points in our core user journeys; you will partner with design and engineering from discovery through deployment.
  • You will work with your squads to help them know what’s important, how they are contributing, and why what they’re doing matters.
  • You will build great relationships with your stakeholders. Key stakeholders are involved in product discovery activities.
  • You will enable the squad to know what to instrument so we can immediately understand how their products are being used and ultimately whether customer and business value is being created.
  • Drive for the best customer experience possible. Drive the end-to-end feature and product delivery cycle, ensuring the product meets our high-quality standards.
  • Lead and manage agile ceremonies and drive solutions to completion working with Agile teams.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence on vendors that compete both directly and indirectly with Caseware
  • Own the delivery. You’ll be responsible for working closely with your development and design peers to build solutions to pressing customer problems.

What you will bring | Requirements:

  • Curiosity, you won’t have all the answers but you are eager to find out and learn more
  • Prior Technical Product Owner with Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • CPA is a strong asset
  • Comfort with ambiguity and changes among priorities with the ability to adapt quickly and help the team understand and execute.
  • Proven experience in making evidence-based decisions.
  • The ability to facilitate conversations between business stakeholders and technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Big Data either as a consumer or part of a team having built solutions leveraging it
  • Proven ability to establish priorities and achieve results in an organized manner so that goals, status, and results can be communicated with stakeholders
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to help communicate not only internally but to build empathy for users as you validate hypotheses with people outside the company such as distributors, or users.
  • Proven track record for planning and delivering projects or initiatives in a team-based environment.
  • Experience working with remote teams (in different time zones).
  • Having experience at a financial or accounting software company would be a strong asset.
