Owns a cross-functional KYC/CLM compliance product for corporate and institutional capital markets clients. Responsibilities include defining the target state, conducting feasibility analysis, managing RFI/RFP and vendor selection, prioritizing the backlog, coordinating Compliance, Legal, Risk, Security and business stakeholders, and presenting recommendations to executive committees. Requires expertise in Canadian regulatory frameworks, Agile product management, corporate KYC/KYB, and implementation of compliance solutions.
Mandate Overview:
- The client is looking for a product owner to carry a
cross-functional compliance capability, decoupled from business journeys, at
the heart of a three-pillar program. The engagement opens with a feasibility
phase: target state definition, market solicitation, vendor comparison and
recommendation, before implementing the selected solution. The person
represents several business lines and Compliance, and works with the second and
third lines of defence, Legal, Risk and Security. The regulatory component is demanding:
KYC for corporate and institutional clients, ultimate beneficial owners,
sanctions, periodic reviews, and Canadian frameworks (AML/ATF, NI 93-101, NI
31-103, CIRO rules). The role requires 7 years of experience, including 3 years
in compliance, KYC/KYB or CLM at a financial institution, which narrows the
talent pool.
- Candidate sought: a Product Owner or product manager
who has already owned a KYC/CLM compliance product at a financial institution
and is comfortable presenting to a steering committee. Ideally, the person has
led an RFP or a KYC platform selection and knows corporate and institutional
clients, beyond retail KYC.
Requirements

periodic and event-driven reviews)
- Applicable regulatory frameworks (AML/ATF, LEF, NI 93-101
and 31-103, CIRO rules)
- Leading a feasibility analysis, market solicitation
(RFI/RFP) or technology solution selection, including comparison of options,
vendors and costs
- Priority management and coordination of requests from
multiple stakeholders, with trade-offs between value, risk, capacity, vendors
and timelines
- Agile, Scrum or Kanban methodologies
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence and product
backlog management
- Client communications and presentations at various levels,
including executive committees
- French, spoken and written
- Advanced English
Asset:
- Implementation of a CLM, KYC/KYB or compliance orchestration
solution at a financial institution
- Capital Markets knowledge (derivatives, fixed income,
equities)
- Integration of compliance into account opening journeys
- Master data, data quality and governance
- Benefits management and KPIs for a cross-functional product
- Product management or compliance certification (CSPO, ACAMS)
Profiles to Exclude:
- Operational

ownership of a product vision, roadmap or backlog.
- Product
Owner whose products on the resume fall outside compliance, KYC/KYB or CLM,
without the 3 years demonstrated in these domains.
- KYC
experience limited to retail clients, with no exposure to corporate or
institutional clients.
- Business
analyst or Scrum Master profile presented as a PO, with no backlog
prioritization or priority arbitration demonstrated on the resume.
- No
feasibility analysis, market solicitation or solution selection on the resume.
